Legislative Affairs

NAIOP members influence legislation that protects and advances the interests of all industry players, across the board through local, state and national political advocacy, including:

  • Professional lobbying and congressional testimony.
  • Participation in issue coalitions.
  • Keeping membership informed of changes to existing regulatory issues.
  • Building working relationships with local, state and national legislators, becoming a sounding board for new policy ideas.
  • Political support of industry-friendly members of Congress and candidates through the NAIOP-PAC.

Once a year, representatives from our chapter travel to Washington to advocate on behalf of the Commercial Real Estate Industry. Additionaly, once a year all three NC Chapters gather at the Capital to touch base with our local legislators and and voice our concerns on critical issues.
